Sharon
Heinz is a Wisconsin Certified Social Worker and certified psychotherapist at
Heinz Psychological Services, Ltd., of Eau Claire. She also holds CADC III
credentials in alcohol and drug counseling. Her expertise in treating
individuals, (from children to the elderly), couples and families has been
developed since she began her work in the mental health field in 1978. She has
served clients with depression, anxiety, addictions, dealing with trauma, abuse,
chronic illness and pain, or grief. She also has an interest in working with PMS
sufferers and performs forensic evaluations and psychological testing. Sharon is
a member of the Wisconsin Psychological Association, The American Board of
Medical Psychotherapists and the Wisconsin Sex offender Treatment Network. She
is a member of EMDRIA, an international association of professionals trained in
a trauma treatment involving bilateral neurological stimulation.
Sharon
holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Psychology from the University of
Wisconsin Eau Claire. She was elected to membership in Phi Kappa Phi, an
academic honor society. Sharon has maintained a strong commitment to post
graduate education and has pursued an extensive list of continuing education
experiences. Since coming to Eau Claire in 1969, Sharon has filled leadership
positions in a number of local organizations, including the Presidency of the
Eau Claire Service League, Presidency of the Regional Arts Holding Company, and
Team Leader on Luther Hospital’s Development Council. She also was a Brownie
leader, active in Suzuki Violin, a hockey mom and worked on numerous committees
for a variety of other organizations. Her tireless support of the Arts brought
her an award for outstanding Individual in Service to the Arts, from the Eau
Claire Regional Arts Council. Sharon is married to Harlan Heinz. Together they
enjoy five grown children and their families.
