Dr. Heinz has been a Licensed Psychologist since 1978. He
currently serves as Director of Heinz Psychological Services, Ltd., in Eau
Claire. In addition to over 20 years of work as a psychologist/psychotherapist,
Dr. Heinz also taught public school, and taught at the university level for an
additional seven years. With this background of experience, Dr. Heinz brings a
blending of skills to meet the many demands of children and families facing a
wide variety of problems. In addition, to serving clients who have problems in
the area of depression, anxiety, trauma and grief, Dr. Heinz also specializes in
the evaluation and treatment of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder (ADHD), and in the evaluation and treatment of victims and offenders of
sexual abuse. Dr. Heinz also performs psychological evaluations for SSI,
competency and other forensic evaluations. He is a member of the Wisconsin
Psychological Association, the American Psychological Association, the American
Board of Medical Psychotherapists, American Association of Marriage and Family
Therapists, Wisconsin Sex Offender Treatment Network and the National Education
Association.
Dr. Heinz holds Bachelor’s and Masters
degrees in Education, with emphasis in elementary and special education, serving
the needs of children with emotional and learning problems, and a Ph.D. in
Psychology, from the University of Wyoming.
Dr. Heinz has participated in a variety
of volunteer service organizations in the various communities in which he has
lived. He has been a member of an Optimist Club, Toastmaster’s Club and has
served as a volunteer first aid instructor. He has been on the National Ski
Patrol and volunteered as an ambulance driver. In addition, Dr. Heinz was
Co-chair of the Facilities Committee of the Eau Claire Regional Arts Committee,
during the development and refurbishing of the State Theater. He has been an
active member on the board for The Chippewa Valley C.H.A.D.D. Chapter.
Dr. Heinz is married to Sharon Heinz.
Together they enjoy five grown children and their families.
